Description
A steatite statuette of a man named Amenaa. It was discovered in Abydos and is dated on stylistic grounds to the Middle Kingdom. The statuette shows Amenaa standing, both arms hanging straight down by his side. He wears a wavy hair wig and a long kilt closed at the front from the navel to the calves. A single column of hieroglyphs, carved down the centre of his kilt, provides his name and epithet.
