Description
A kneeling statue of Saroy who served as a Royal Scribe under Ramesses II. Saroy is holding a standard along his right arm, supporting it with his left hand. The upper part of the standard is broken. He wears a double striated hair wig and a long pleated robe in fashion during the Ramesside era. Around his neck is a double shebyu-collar of honour and a pectoral. The two creases on his neck are also typical from the reign of Amenhotep III throughout the Amarna Period and into the early Ramesside Period. A single horizontal line of text on his chest mentions his name and title. The royal cartouche of King Ramesses II is carved on his right shoulder.
