Description
A silver bowl with repoussé decoration consisting of vertical gadroons rounded at the rim. It was discovered in 1936 among other artefacts of the Treasure of Tod. Many of the silver vessels of the Tod Treasure, including this small bowl, were found flattened and folded. It is possible that this was done to fit as many pieces as possible into the small copper chests used to hold the ritual deposit. Expert conservators have restored the bowl to its original shape but traces of the folds can still be seen.
