Description
Models of bakers, brewers and other food production activities in ancient Egypt were deposited in elite burials to cater a comfortable afterlife. This painted wooden model shows a woman grinding grain. She is kneeling on a plinth, knees closed, her toes touch the ground. Her upper body is bent and her arms reach forward to the no longer existing upper millstone.
