A wooden model hes-vase from the burial of Mesehti, a provincial governor of Asyut in Dynasty 11. This type of vase was used to pour liquids for ceremonies and funerary rituals. Placing wooden models in tombs was part of burial practices during the Middle Kingdom that ensured the dead had all the proper supplies for their afterlife.
