Description

A rectangular sandstone stela from Armant in Upper Egypt. The top is decorated with an Egyptian cavetto cornice and a winged sun disk. Below, is a double scene of goddess Isis seated at an offering table, nursing her child Horus. The low-backed throne on which the goddess sits is raised on a pedestal. Isis wears a tripartite hair wig, a vulture headdress topped by a diadem and a sun disk in between two horns surmounted by a throne.
