A bronze fluted basin from the tomb of Mesehti, a provincial governor of Asyut in Dynasty 11. It has a wide rim, flat bottom and finely polished surface. Mesehti was an important man who, like many court officials of the Middle Kingdom, chose to be buried in a magnificent rock-cut tomb located in his hometown rather than near the king whom he served.
