Description
A cylindrical container made of silver and electrum discovered in 1936 among other artefacts of the Tod Treasure. The case is encircled by two bands of electrum wires and the elegant handle is riveted with silver nails. The handle may have allowed the case to be suspended by a strap to the shoulder. Many of the objects in the Treasure of Tod were probably imported from various parts of the ancient world, reflecting ancient Egypt’s wide international trade network.
