First International Tutankhamun GEM Conference

The first international conference organized by GEM under the title ‘Moving & Displaying’, opened on Sunday 10th May 2015. It ran over five consecutive days at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC) in Fustat amid wide participation including a number of international museum directors. The conference is an important opportunity for researchers and scholars from different countries to communicate. Scholars from a number of countries, including England, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, Germany, Japan, and Belgium presented various scientific visions opening the way for the exchange of common experiences. Papers presented at the conference discussed museum display techniques including the interpretive plan for displaying Tutankhamun’s collection at the GEM and mechanisms of safe transportation for King Tutankhamun's artefacts.
