Fifth International Tutankhamun GEM Conference

‘Iconography’ was the subject of the Fifth International Tutankhamun GEM Conference held on the 4th and 5th May 2019. The annual conference continued to gain huge international momentum with the largest number of participants from Egypt and around the world in attendance as well as the most diverse number of topics for presented at any conference thus far. GEM stepped into the global spotlight with this last session of the conference before the opening of GEM.
The Grand Egyptian Museum has made sure that staff working on GEM collections have a share in participating in this international conference, encouraging all researchers to present distinguished papers during the conference sessions.
At the end of the conference, an important session of recommendations was held, attended by a large number of scholars and researchers in the field of Egyptology and Museology. A number of recommendations were presented, which GEM officials promised to take under advisement.
