This painted wooden stela was found in the area dedicated to the burials of the priests of god Montu at Deir-el-Bahri in West Thebes. Its owner Wennefer was a descendant of a powerful priestly family. The stela shows a winged sun disc under the curved sign of heaven above a double scene bordered by a colourful frame. The scene shows Wennefer standing at an altar, both hands raised in adoration before the hawk-headed god Re-Horakhty (left) and god Atum (right). Wennefer is clad in a long transparent robe. His name and title are given in the text before his head. The remainder of the stela has two columns of six horizontal lines of text containing two sun hymns glorifying the rising and setting sun.
