Description
A small silver bowl with vertical band decoration (gadroon) made by hammering the metal from the reverse side (repoussé). Silver was associated with ‘white’ and ‘light’ in ancient Egypt and played an important role in religious rituals. Recent analysis of various silver artefacts found as part of the Tod Treasure reveal that the silver was relatively pure and almost certainly imported to Egypt.
