Description

A bronze mirror from the collection of Mesehti, a provincial governor of Asyut in Dynasty 11. It consists of two parts - a bronze disc that would have been polished to create a reflective surface and a wooden handle with a wedjat eye on either side. Mirrors were found in burials of both men and women usually in close association with burial goods like combs, cosmetics like kohl and ointment containers.
