Description
A fired clay head from the Karnak Cache (CK 663) portraying King Amenhotep III. The king wears the khepresh crown (sometimes called the blue crown), while a royal uraeus snake rears protectively on his forehead. The large almond eyes of the king later became a stylistic feature of Amarna art. The head was probably made towards the end of King Amenhotep III’s reign.
