Description
This lapis lazuli necklace from Tod Treasure is composed of wedge-shaped beads that are pierced by two or three holes and joined by two rows of round beads to create a collar. Lapis lazuli held a special religious significance in ancient Egypt, as it is the colour of the sky before dawn, the colour of the primordial ocean and the hair of the gods.
